Caleb and Riley are joined by Rick Irvine, a retired engineer that summited Mount Everest at age 59. At 59-years-old, Rick Irvine from Minto New Brunswick was the first New Brunswicker to scale Mount Everest. On May 24, Rick reached the 8,848-metre summit of the world’s tallest mountain. What I found particularly amazing about Rick though is that he wasn’t always a die-hard mountaineer. Reaching the top of Mount Everest wasn’t a lifelong goal for him. In fact he only started climbing about 10 years prior.
